Maya The Goddesses
Goddesses are worshipped for centuries. Paintings of these goddesses have been in existence from the times of the early medieval period. These illustrated goddesses are more than just paintings; they are unique icons, who are glorified as living manifestations of divine power.
They are embodiments of Maya. Any depiction of these goddesses must capture their beauty and exuberant vibe. I’ve created the paintings with extreme attention to detail since every tiny element and component is considered important and crucial.
The goddesses are a testament to the power of women. My work of art embodies an important tradition of knowledge in my paintings and visual art. I have evolved my art through various subjects and compositions. So, you find a deliberation when you see it.
My paintings depict the social and cultural identity of Indian goddesses. Their exposition of themes of various human and spiritual aspects makes them an undeniable visual treat.
In these art pieces, I have rendered the human psyche as a faculty of an entity's thoughts and consciousness. It involves various sub-faculties like cognizance, perception, thinking, judgement, language and memory.
My visual language and narration hold the power of:
- Imagination
- Recognition
- Appreciation
- Initiation of feelings and emotions
- Imbibition of attitude and action
Sharda is depicted as a beautiful avatar- a goddess of art & knowledge. She’s engaged in her favourite musical instrument “veena.” She’s deeply connected with nature. Her persona is temperate and cheerful at the same time. Her magnificent, deep eyes are radiating blessings and affection.
There are multiple deities in the Hindu pantheon. All hold a deep religious significance and exceptional influence on mankind.
My depiction of Gayatri is that of powerful divine energy that comprises three portions, namely - Om: The Pranava or the basic syllable of Vedic mantras and the three Vyahrtis that represent the higher planetary systems and levels of consciousness.
They tell us - anything is possible if you believe in yourself, and that beauty is not about your looks but that it radiates from within. Our deities are an inspiration to all men and women who have ever felt inadequate or unworthy. They are a reminder that we can be anything we want to be in this world - all we have to do is dare to dream!
The Goddesses are worshipped all around the world, but what makes them so special?
One of the most prominent features of goddesses is their grandeur. They are believed to be highly charming with exquisite dresses and shining natural jewellery. The use of pearl jewellery in my paintings portrays the fact that they are deeply connected with nature. They don’t need bulky and lustrous accessories to intensify their beauty.
They also exemplify female empowerment.
Our country is home to the most beautiful, exotic and alluring deities. Their long hair, deep eyes and exquisite features are often a subject of partaking and worshipping.
Sometimes, our goddesses are largely forgotten in contemporary India. The lack of representation of Indian divinity has led to their absence from pop culture. No wonder why we have hardly seen them on movies or posters.
In today's digitally connected world, this is unacceptable with people wanting to identify with their own mythology more than ever before. Technology has given us a platform to rediscover the Goddesses that have been living in our art history books as well.
My paintings possess immense beauty, power, intelligence and knowledge to make the entire aura of your room flattering and rejuvenating.
Recharge the vibe of your home by adding one/all of these statement elements. A bright pop of colour and it’s attention to detail are the cherries on top of thes masterpieces.
